LHF#1: Hello Friends!

Welcome to Let's Hold Fast!

With the coronavirus in full swing, we are being advised to exercise social distancing as the way to stop the spread of the pandemic. While that makes good medical sense, I wonder about the effects of such isolation on our spiritual lives and our growing friendships.
While we all try and keep to ourselves, will we grow lonely?
Will our faith turn stagnant?
Will we distance ourselves emotionally from one another?
And what effect will that have on the unity, love, and spiritual health of our church?

This blog was started with the goal of bringing us together. Let's Hold Fast refers to a principle found in Hebrews 10:23. The verse reads:

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

The context is that of seeking the Lord together, as brothers and sisters in Christ.
We're leaving the brothers out here, and striving for solid moments of spiritual encouragement for the sisters! Come what may, Let's Hold Fast together and marvel at the love and truth of our faithful Heavenly Father.

I think this is a good way to stay connected and a great idea. It's only the beginning and my father has self quarantined. He is already lonely and lacking fellowship and community. I think the men need one of these too if they like writing. Or perhaps Zoom meetings instead of real. That is where everyone can see and hear each other and meet online. Umass is doing this. Just an idea. Perhaps for Women's Discipleship we could do something like that.

Good ideas Karen! I'm not really technically savvy, but I'll explore the possibility for our next DG. Thank you.
