LHF#62: Firm Foundation

As these quarantine days drag on, it's sometimes tough to find our way.
"The days are so long, but the weeks fly by."
"Everything seems so weird now."
"I struggle each time things are extended."

Yes, the current challenges are bearing down on us. With no clear end in sight and much ongoing uncertainty, we're going to need to persevere. Perseverance is "continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition" (merriam-webster.com). It is steadfastness in the face of trials.

We don't like trials. Opposition is hard. And failure is downright humiliating.
But God...
He is able to give us the wisdom we need.
He is able to supply the strength we lack.
He is able to sustain us through the rough patches.

Therefore,
my beloved brothers,
be steadfast,
immovable,
always abounding
in the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord
your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58

He is our firm foundation, enabling us to overflow with joyful service as we pursue His plan for today. And we can be assured, our work is then valuable to Him. He will use it for His good purposes.

Sisters, stand firm!
Abound in the Lord's work.
Know He will not waste your efforts.

God loves you, and He will see you through.
Any way we can help each other to hold fast in these uncertain days?

Well, I think the discipleship Zoom meetings and this blog are wonderful ways to do just that. And being creative to do kind things such as the drive by going away for Sally and John-good idea. Checking in with one another to see what the needs are even if just to hear from another person and know we're not alone. ONe special woman is sending books to Joy as she can't get the a library now and is stuck in her condo. Those are a few examples of people finding out needs and meeting them in a creative way.
