LHF#25: Taste & See

Have you noticed any flowers poking up through the dirt?
Have you sat close to a window and enjoyed the sun shining in on your face?
Has a friend called to say hello and see how you are doing?
Did you have a chance to help someone?
Are you enjoying the robins and blue jays gathering in your yard?
Have you been able to go to the store and buy groceries?
Do you have loved ones with you at home?
Did you sleep well last night?
Are your washer and dryer working?
Did you get a sweet text message?
Have you been able to wave and smile at a neighbor?
Did you spot a deer outside?
Was your garbage picked up this week?
Have you had the health and strength to care for your family?
Is the heat on in your home?
Do you have light and water?

Any Bible verse that is encouraging you?
Is there a song that stirs your soul?
Have you been able to talk to God through prayer?
Is He speaking to you through His Word?
Are you able to pray for someone else?
Has the Lord given you joy in His salvation?
Did He help you through the day?
Did He protect you through the night?
Are you experiencing His love?
Has God provided for you?
Do you know His peace?
Are you assured of His promises?
Has He given you a wonderful church family?
Do you experience unity with other believers?
Are you happy in Jesus?
Have you been able to thank Him today?

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man (or woman!) who takes refuge in Him!"
Psalm 34:8

This is exactly right! We need to put our focus on what is good and true. This takes effort and purpose. I have to turn off the television and the constant barrage of news. I don't even watch that much but I do like to "check in" and see what is current.

Instead I'll remember yesterday when Levi was pushing Uncle Larry in the wagon while he was wearing his panda bear slippers. Now that should bring a smile, at least it does to Oma. Or, perhaps concentrating on some song lyrics that tell us truths that we can cling to. I have found a new song by the Getty music team, "Christ Our Hope in Life and Death", to be just that. What are you doing? What has made you smile?

Haha, Millie that's a great image of Levi. Robin makes me smile all day every day. A lot of times when we hand her something she's saying, "Da doo" for thank you!

I was writing a list of things I'm thankful for this morning too Gina. One thing I was thankful for was more time to cook with recipes that I've been wanting to try for almost a decade!! Making an Indian dish- Butter Chicken over rice- tonight. Also thankful that God gave us taste as one way to see how good He is!!!

Wonderful Nikki! I'm glad you have the chance to try new things now. That's a great way to spend the extra time. And yes, tasting God's goodness in these days is the very best! :)
